On the one hand we find the <strong>Atalaya<\/strong>, perfect for walking with family and breathing tranquility, while enjoying fountains, waterfalls, palm trees, gardens and subtropical plants. In the area of Atalaya you can also enjoy viewpoints, playgrounds, terraces and ceramic murals. This is the Hotel Taoro, opened in 1890 by the French architect Adolph Coquet. Later, in 1979, it was transformed into the headquarter of a luxurious casino until 2006, the year in which the Casino moved to the Lago Marti\u00e1nez. Among others, Agatha Christie was one of the most famous people who were accommodated here, joining other famous personalities of recognized name that have passed through the streets of Puerto de la Cruz. However, the fate of Hotel Taoro has been a bit irregular. The difficult terrain on which it was built brought many problems, and a fire that took place in 1929. Despite its excellent views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Taoro Hotel, named The Orotava Grand Hotel Company Limited in its beginning, did not have the expected success and ceased to be profitable. That is why, it finally had to close, leaving way to new business models such as the Casino. Currently they are still looking for ways to bring this property back to life, and some possibilities are being considered, but so far, none of the proposals seem to ensure profitability.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2604\" src=\"https:\/\/aptosambassador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/vistas-del-puerto-de-la-cruz-desde-el-parque-taoro.jpg\" alt=\"Vistas del Puerto de la Cruz desde el Parque Taoro\" width=\"900\" height=\"596\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aptosambassador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/vistas-del-puerto-de-la-cruz-desde-el-parque-taoro.jpg 900w, https:\/\/aptosambassador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/vistas-del-puerto-de-la-cruz-desde-el-parque-taoro-768x509.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Finally there is the <strong>Camino de la Sortija<\/strong>, a place where numerous celebrations are usually held, and therefore it is one of the most emblematic places for the inhabitants. In this area of Taoro Park, the British colony used to hold her horse ring racings, that is how it got its name (ring road). Today it is an area where it is very common to see many people practicing sport.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another recognized place of Taoro Park is the <strong>Anglican Church<\/strong>, a witness of memorable times of this city when the British colony was well established in these lands. It belongs since 1964to the Diocese of Gibraltar. A neogothic style church whose construction began in the last decade of the nineteenth century and whose architecture transports us to small towns in the UK. Private donations have been the source of income required for this Church to being able to enjoy its interior furnishings, altar, stained glass and baptismal font. The Church also is embraced by landscaped gardens honoring the victims of a plane crash.
