Some facts about Punta de Teno Lighthouse<\/span><\/h2>\n

Punta de Teno Lighthouse was built with stone extracted from the island of La Gomera at the end of the 19th century. It has a height of 7.62 metres. The lantern that illuminated the coast has a diameter of 1.8 metres and a focal length of 500 mm.<\/span><\/p>\n

How to get to the Punta de Teno Lighthouse<\/span><\/h2>\n

Due to its location within a protected rural park and the characteristics of the terrain, road access is restricted to guaguas <\/i>(buses) for most of the day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Access with your own car<\/span><\/h3>\n

If you want to access with your own car, you must go in the early morning (before 10 a.m.), or wait almost until sunset (after 7 p.m.)<\/span><\/p>\n

In the summer (July, August and September), the restricted schedule is extended from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n

Access by bus<\/span><\/h3>\n

If not, you can take a bus that goes from Buenavista to Punta de Teno, leaving at 10:10 a.m., 11:05 a.m., 12:00, 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 4:10 p.m., 5:05 p.m. and 6:05 p.m. and return from Punta de Teno at 10:35 a.m., 11:25 a.m., 12:25 p.m., 1:25 p.m., 2:25 p.m., 3:25 p.m., 4:35 p.m., 5:25 p.m. and 6:25 p.m. The price is one Euro per journey.<\/span><\/p>\n

Precautions<\/span><\/h3>\n

You should keep in mind that the access road to the Punta de Teno Lighthouse passes under impressive cliffs and some natural tunnels. It is not a recommended road on rainy days due to possible landslides during the journey.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once you pass through the most complicated road area, you only have to get to the car parks close to the Lighthouse, where you can get off and enjoy the views and the building itself.<\/span><\/p>\n

How long does it take to arrive?<\/span><\/h3>\n

From Puerto de la Cruz, it will take approximately 1 hour to reach the Punta de Teno Lighthouse, a little longer if you go by public transport.<\/span><\/p>\n

The views in the area of \u200b\u200bthe Punta de Teno Lighthouse are amazing and the sunsets are overwhelming. Due to access restrictions in this area of \u200b\u200bthe island, you will feel you are traveling to the past and you will be able to imagine how local aborigines could live there, decades ago, when transport was still not as developed as now.<\/span><\/p>\n

Orography and clean waters located in the small coves of the area also play a key role in creating this spectacular place.<\/span><\/p>\n
