On 8 October will take place the first edition of the Half Marathon by Night of Puerto de la Cruz, a sample of the efforts being made by this beautiful city to diversify its range of leisure and sport and become known to the world as an important tourist place to enjoy many activities including sport and running as a booming sport that increasingly has more followers.<\/p>\n

\"running\"<\/p>\n

Distances<\/h2>\n

A part of the half marathon of 21 kilometers, there will also be other races in which may participate more novice runners with distances of 10 kilometers and 5 kilometers, apart from a children’s race at 18:30 pm.<\/p>\n

Schedule of the Night Media Marathon of Puerto de la Cruz<\/h2>\n

The scheduled start of the half marathon and other races with shorter distances is at 21:30 at night.<\/p>\n

The races of 5 and 10 kilometers will end around quarter to 11 pm and the half marathon at midnight.<\/p>\n

Course of the Night Media Marathon of Puerto de la Cruz<\/h2>\n

The Half Marathon will do three laps of the same course, and the other shorter distances consist of 2 and 1 lap respectively.<\/p>\n

The start of the tour will take place on Calle Santo Domingo, to reach the Plaza de Europa, from which it takes direction to Puerto de la Cruz fishing pier pasing by the famous sculpture of the fisherwoman who has become an icon of the city.<\/p>\n

After visiting the fisherwoman sculpture, the race will continue until Paseo Lui Laviggi, to get to El Pe\u00f1\u00f3n<\/a>, passing Francisco Afonso Carrillo and overlooking the beautiful Playa Jard\u00edn.<\/p>\n

Subsequently it reaches the Avenida Loro Parque and will rotate by the same route to get back to the Paseo Lui Laviggi to continue along Calle San Felipe, until you reach the Plaza del Charco and follow the route along Calle San Juan, turning left by Luis de la Cruz and reaching the street Zamora.<\/p>\n

In Zamora Street is a dividing point of the route for runners who are performing the routes of 5 and 10 kilometers instead of the half marathon.<\/p>\n

Runners who are competing in the half marathon of 21 kilometers still have to continue along the Calle la Hoya, until reaching the resort of Lake Marti\u00e1nez where they will run around the fountain pool, continuing along the Avenida Col\u00f3n, Paseo de San Telmo<\/a> and finally Calle Santo Domingo where the finish line is (point of departure and arrival of the half marathon).<\/p>\n

This route will be performed three times to finish the competition.<\/p>\n
