Tenerife is a peculiar island because of the large number of landscapes that can be found in a few square kilometers, from mountainous, volcanic or even martian landscapes such as those found in the Teide, to leafy mountains such as can be found in the Valley of La Orotava, passing by highways and modern infrastructures, to paradisiac beaches.<\/p>\n

To this is added a pleasant and stable climate that gives security to film-producing companies, that filming will not be longer than necessary due to possible inclement weather.<\/p>\n

These are some of the main reasons why more and more film productions are set on the island of Tenerife as a place to make films.<\/p>\n

Here we review the most important productions that have taken the island of Tenerife as shooting area.<\/p>\n

Jason Bourne<\/h2>\n

Jason Bourne is the most recent Hollywood blockbuster (2016) that has taken place in Tenerife, with Matt Damon as the protagonist.<\/p>\n

For several weeks, the capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife<\/a>, was paralyzed especially during the nights and at dawn, to shoot in its streets about a third of the final duration of the film.<\/p>\n

Although these scenes were filmed in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in places like the Plaza de Espa\u00f1a, the streets of the city center and peripheral neighborhoods, in the plot story of the film, it was the city of Athens, where disturbances and protests were occurring against the Greek government and the political class.<\/p>\n

Making use of special effects, the real images of the streets of Santa Cruz de Tenerife are mixed with some fragments of the film, adding in postproduction the Greek Parliament in the background.<\/p>\n

A frantic film, where those who know thoroughly the capital city, will recognize many characteristic places of Santa Cruz.<\/p>\n

Fast and Furious 6<\/h2>\n

The saga Fast and Furious, in its sixth edition, also found in the island of Tenerife the ideal location to roll most of its exteriors in places like Garachico, Icod de los Vinos, San Juan de la Rambla, Buenavista del Norte<\/a> And Gu\u00eda de Isora.<\/p>\n
