What is the Blue Flag?
The Blue Flag is an annual badge by the European Federation for Environmental Education whose objective is that the population is aware of those beaches that are suitable for bathing. It certifies that they are enabled with environmental information and education and that they have ecological security and quality services to all users of the same.
How many beaches have Blue Flag in the Canaries and Tenerife?
In 2016, on the Canary Islands 60 beaches were certified with blue flags (4 more than the previous year), of which 15 are located on the island of Tenerife.
