If you do not know how to get to Puerto de la Cruz once you have arrived in Tenerife, here you will find all the information you need.
Where is Puerto de la Cruz located?
Puerto de la Cruz is located in the northern part of the island, so you must keep in mind that to get to the city you must always access through the so-called Autopista del Norte TF-5 (Northern Highway).
How did you get to the island?
Arrival by plane
Your access point by plane is probably through one of the two airports on the island.
South Airport
Although to reach Puerto de la Cruz from Tenerife South Airport you have 3 possibilities, the fastest (1 hour and 10 minutes) is to travel the entire Autopista del Sur TF-1 (Southern Highway) from the Airport to reach Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and once there, take Autopista del Norte TF-5 to Puerto de la Cruz.
If you take the Southern Highway in the opposite direction, towards the municipalities of Adeje, Masca and Buenavista del Norte, you will be going around the island on the opposite side. This is a curvy road and your journey will take approximately 20 or 30 minutes plus. On the contrary, you will find some landscapes along this other route more beautiful.

You must take Autopista del Norte TF-5 for 26 minutes until you reach Puerto de la Cruz following the clear indications of the information panels of the highway.

Arrival by boat
It may be that you have previously been to one of the other islands, and therefore you access by boat to Tenerife.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife Pier
From Santa Cruz de Tenerife Pier, if you bring a car with you, the first thing you will have to do is leave the premises of the Pier and you will find the impressive Tenerife Auditorium. After passing next to it, you must access the Autopista del Norte TF-5 through Tres de Mayo tunnel, beginning in the lower part of the city and whose exit leads directly to the beginning of the highway towards Puerto de la Cruz.
Once on the highway you should not leave it until you find any of the exits to Puerto de la Cruz. It will take you a little more than half an hour.

Los Cristianos Pier
Unlike the South Airport, Los Cristianos Pier is located in the nerve center of one of the busiest tourist cities in southern Tenerife. When leaving the dock, look for the indications towards the Autopista del Norte TF-1.
As it happened for the South Airport, you will have three possibilities. The most comfortable one is to access Puerto de la Cruz by first reaching the capital via Autopista TF-1 and then accessing Autopista del Norte TF-5 from there.
