Playa Jardín is a complex located on the coast of Puerto de la Cruz, one of the most emblematic areas of the city, made up of three beaches and a leisure and nature complex surrounding them.
Playa Jardín, another work of the great César Manrique
Like the facilities of Lago Martiánez, which we have already mentioned on another occasion, the surroundings of Playa Jardín were also designed by César Manrique who, as you can see, left Puerto de la Cruz imbued with his works.
In the surroundings of Playa Jardín you can find plenty of gardens with endemic plant species, bars, stone caves and walks along the beach perfect for an afternoon stroll by the sea without having to reach the sand, but where you can enjoy the sea breeze or the sunsets while you feel the pleasant smell of the sea.
All details of Playa Jardín
The surrounding area of Playa Jardín is also made up of two other beaches called Playa Chica and Punta Brava that are interconnected side by side. All of them are totally natural volcanic black sand beaches.
Playa Jardín is a beach with a lot of services, which allow it to hold the blue flag, since in addition to having toilets, showers, surf practice area, cleaning service, bars and restaurants, parking near the beach and being well connected with bus services, it also has access for the disabled.
Moreover, if you want to enjoy a beach with more amenities, you can also book hammocks and deck chairs.
The three beaches together have a length of more than half a kilometer, and you should have some caution when there is a heavy swell.
A beach for sports
Whether you like surfing or not, Playa Jardín is a perfect place to play sports. On the one hand, for lovers of waves, Playa Jardín is a place where surfers usually gather, surfing waves both with surfboard and bodyboard (very important to be careful with currents that can sometimes be found). However, if you prefer running, there are walks where you can enjoy a nice race while enjoying the sea and a perfect landscape.
The bonfires of San Juan in Playa Jardín
Playa Jardín is the place par excellence in Puerto de la Cruz where the bonfires of San Juan are celebrated. They are often nights where a lot of people, especially the youngest ones, congregate in this complex, along the three beaches and around the bonfires, and try to put aside bad times and purify themselves with a night bath.
How to access Playa Jardín
