What is the Festival Mueca
The Mueca Festival is an art festival in the streets that has survived thanks to citizen collaboration, especially important after the economic crisis began in 2009. It encompasses many facets of art, such as theater, circus, plastic arts, dance, music and an infinite etcetera of disciplines for the people who visit Puerto de la Cruz year after year to attend this event.

On Thursday, May 11, at 8:00 pm, the Festival Mueca will begin with the opening in the Teatro Timanfaya by the company “Impulso”, followed by “Abubukaka” in Espacio Aqualia, and “La Pandilla” in the ” Espacio Agustinos”
On Friday May 12 there will be numerous shows from 6 pm, in the most emblematic streets of Puerto de la Cruz, by several internationally renowned companies, as well as “Abubukaka”, which will feature a new performance in Espacio Aqualia
Saturday, May 13 will be the big day of the Mueca Festival 2017, with performances that will not stop, from 11 in the morning until two in the night.
The Mueca 2017 Festival will be closed on Sunday, May 14, with the last musical performance in the Pub Limbo that will culminate at 5 pm, with the performance of the company “Material de Contrabando”
Puerto Street Art goes on
The Puerto Street Art is a movement that began at the Festival Mueca, consisting of beautifying some of the facades of Puerto de la Cruz with art.
The La Ranilla district is the location par excellence where you can enjoy some of the most beautiful murals that adorn Puerto de la Cruz. In the last edition of the Festival Mueca, this movement expanded beyond this fishing district to the beach Martiánez.
During this fifteenth edition of the Mueca Festival, new artistic creations will emerge again in the Barrio de La Ranilla that will recall the nicknames of the most historically recognized families of the city.
